Silbers CIC and Men2Men Network CIC are proposing a new community facility for Pembroke Dock.

Wood Worx will offer community access to creative workshop spaces to men and women aged 18+. Initially this will be green wood furniture making, but will expand into carpentry and employment training. The Woodworks would initially be open one day per week, but as participation grows, we would offer increased opening times.

By bringing people together to be creative we can help to build a strong and resilient community in Pembroke Dock. Access to this service will be via voluntary donations.

Background

Silbers CIC have been working in association with the VC Gallery and FutureWorks Pembrokeshire offering greenwood furniture making as a tool for getting people back into employment or training. They have been working with the wider community through projects with Henry Tudor School and Pembroke Dock Community School.

Men2Men Network CIC, funded by Hywel Dda Health Board, has successfully established two flagship hubs: CardiShed in Cardigan and HwbTywiHub in Carmarthen. These spaces were initially created to support men’s wellbeing, offering a safe, welcoming environment for men to connect, talk, and engage in meaningful activities.

While the primary focus of both hubs remains male wellbeing, they have grown into vibrant community assets. On specific days of the week, the hubs open their doors to the wider public, running inclusive workshops for women, youth-focused sessions, and community days that encourage creativity, conversation, and connection across all ages and backgrounds.

In addition to our hubs, Men2Men Network CIC runs a plethora of wellbeing-focused groups throughout Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. From woodwork, green crafts, and music sessions to mental health support circles and social gatherings, we are committed to building strong, resilient communities — one connection at a time.
